Jiayue Yu (b.1995, China) is a multidisciplinary visual artist specializing in photography, 3D rendering, and video. Her artistic practice explores the intricate interplay between individual experiences and the broader social context. With a keen focus on the influence of technology, mass media, and urban environments, she investigates how these forces mold our identities and shape our understanding of reality. She received her Bachelor's degree in Studio Arts from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 2017. She is currently an MFA candidate at Syracuse University.

She is the recipient of The 2022 LensCulture Critics’ Choice Award, the shortlist of the 2023 Urbanautica Institute Awards, the finalist of the 2020 Three Shadows Photography Award. Her work has been exhibited at Pinakothek der Moderne, Germany; Padova International Photography Festival, Italy; Colorado Photographic Arts Center, USA; Three Shadow Photography Art Center, China; Yue Museum, China; Fuji Film X-Spcae, China; PhEST Photo Festival, Italy; MANA Contemporary, Chicago, USA. Her work has been published by LensCulture, Fotofilmic JRNL, Fisheye Magazine, Photoworks UK, Jiazazhi, etc.
